A Busy Week Gone By!

This past week was very busy and the end of the week begins a new era. To recap a little, It was my last week of a condensed math class. Never again will I take one of those. I was off on thursday so sis and I stayed home well rather we had a girl day. I did the inevitable and took her to get her ears pierced. Dad was not for this so I did not tell him until after the fact but I think he was expecting it :) luv you huney. :) She was a very big girl and did not cry at all for the first ear and shed a few tears on the second one but after she realized she had her earrings in she got over it and showed everyone we ran into. So far she is doing very well with them. Much better than expected. Then on to today which was my last day of work ahh! I feel like I can breath a little. To add to the excitement I finished my math class. I'm still waiting on the final grade but hopefully i'll know by monday. It was very difficult and hope I passed it. To top things off we are super excited to be packing and getting ready to head to Louisiana tomorrow. We have not been home in 2 years and we are long overdue for a visit. Not looking forward to the heat though. I am enjoying the comfortable 60/70 degree weather here. So to sum it up just as we have started to settle into a routine of daily doings life yet again will become a little more jumbled with being gone for three weeks then getting home and finding a new routine. Off to do more packing and get ready to leave. The kids are super excited.

Getting Into A Routine

Dad left about a week ago for his deployment. We were grateful to get the extra month that we had with him due to his delay. I have decided to keep track and share the journey. The first few days were the hardest. The cards he made for the kids kept their spirits up when he could not contact us during his travels. Now that dad is there and getting set up we can talk to him on the web cam. Daily life around the house seems to be constantly changing as we find our way. The adventure should be interesting.. follow along.

morgan emily's 2nd birthday

We had a small gathering at the community center in the fairytale room and rented the jumpy castle so the kids could go play. We ran out of time so continued to the house and opened presents at home. We all had a blast.. except cameron that's a whole nother story.

Thanksgiving and Christmas

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas. Time has been flying by. Guess it's time for an update. We didn't do much for Thanksgiving. We celebrated with the neighbors and had a giant feast. Christmas was a hit for the kids they got lots of toys and presents. They had a wonderful day. It's great now that they are both old enough to participate. Cameron really got into the idea of Santa this year. We baked santa cookies for Santa and read the Night Before Christmas. Finally after getting the kids to bed Santa came (barely lol-santa fell asleep waiting for the kids to go to sleep). Cameron was the first one up at 6am and we made him wait until the rest of us got up real fast. We came down the stairs and it was the classic, "He came, Santa came". He was so excited. We got the webcam up and had it set up to where maw maw and paw paw in La were able to watch the kids open presents. It took a while for sissy to wake up she didn't fully understand why it was all going on but she eventually got into it. We got all bundled up big time and took the kids out to the ski hill and let them go sledding with dad. It was really cold so we didn't spend much time out there. The rest of the day was spent being lazy and cleaning up the mess. Pictures at a later time

Winter is here

We went on our vacation/medical tdy to Anchorage. We drove it took 7ish hours. We drove through Denali. It is absolutely gorgeous. We got to Elmendorf AFB on the 25th (our 9 year anniv). We stayed in lodging which was pretty nice. We did a lot of things while we were there. It is so much bigger than Eielson. We picked up our new puppy. He's a miniature schnauzer. We named him Darwin. He is a character. We did a lot of shopping, took the kids to chuckecheese, the zoo, imaginarium, Toys r us, Did I mention we ate a lot. lol. We drove back on the 30th. we got a late start from my piss poor medical apt. More test whoohoo. On our drive back cameron noticed the white stuff on the side of the road. We were caught off guard-but pretended not to be. Yeup it was snow. Cameron said, "Santa's gonna come soon now". It was the cutest thing. I caught it on video. He is such a character growing up so fast. They both are.
The snow really hasn't gone away since we got back. Joe woke up this am to 6 not 6 am but 6 degrees. Getting cold. They say things are going to warm up a a bit for a few days and may melt the snow. It came about a month early. Talk about crash course in how to drive on ice. Things don't shut down here.

Starting to get cold

The weather is turning cold here in Alaska. It's about 34 in the morning getting up to the mid 50's. Calling for snow in a few days. Winter will surely be here soon. Joe went caribou and moose hunting and did not have any luck. We saw more than they did. A momma and baby moose walked right by the house. There is a bunch of moose poop on the side walk right out our back gate. Close to nature:). Cameron has started enrichment and the CDC. He goes Mon-Thurs 1-4 pm and he loves it. He has been coming up with some funny sayings lately. One of them was when we were driving back home from town and he had a hershey's chocolate bar. He opened the bar and said, "Nope no gold ticket this time." It was just hilarious it came outta nowhere. Another funny thing he said was when we were on our way to "old mcdonalds" (mcdonalds). He said mom are we going to that place by the chinese place the sandwich store? I said subway he said yeah eat fresh. who new he actually paid attention to commercials. Morgan Emily is learning new things all the time she now points and stabs you in the eye while saying it very well. She loves to give hugs and kisses. They are starting to fight like brother and sister. She has started to run it is so cute to watch. She loves to dance almost anytime she hears music she starts moving to the beat. I finally signed up for online classes to get a degree in business management. Will be busy with that. Other than that things are well just getting ready for the winter. Hope to keep updating more often.
